Kitara FC cemented their lead at the top of the table in the FUFA Big League after overcoming Kataka on Thursday.
In the game played at Kigaaya Playground in Hoima City, Kitara needed two late goals to edge past relegation-threatened Kataka.
Substitute Derrick Byabachwezi and George Ssenkaaba scored a goal each in the second half to guide Kitara to maximum points.
Despite dominating proceedings, Kataka proved a hard nut crack and it required extra efforts to overcome them.
Bwabakwezi who had replaced Lazarous Bwambale in the 57th minute broke the deadlock 16 minutes later to send the home crowd into celebrations.
Two minutes later (75th minute), Ssenkaaba reacted quickly enough to connect home from Farouk Katongole’s through pass and thus put the game beyond reach.
Victory takes Kitara to 43 points, four above Police FC who were held to a one-all draw by Ndejje University.
Kataka on the other hand drop into the relegation zone (with 22 points) following Luweero United’s win over NEC FC.
