Former Heathens Rugby Club chairperson Philip Kiboijana has announced that he intends to contest for Uganda Rugby Union’s (URU) presidency in the upcoming election.
Kiboijana was speaking on Friday during Sport This Morning, a sports show on NBS Sport TV.
So far, he is the first and only individual to express interest in the office officially. However, current president Godwin Kayangwe is expected to run for his second term which will last from 2023-2026.
The other elective posts are Vice-presidents – Technical and Commercial, Honourable Secretary, Treasurer, Upcountry Representative, Women’s Representative, and Rugby Development Manager.
The election will be held during URU’s Annual General Meeting in April.
