KCCA FC confirmed their place in the Stanbic Uganda Cup after edging past Mbarara City FC on Friday.

In the game played at MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, the home side win 2-1 to advance.

Rogers Mato scored just two minutes after kickoff to give KCCA FC a perfect start.

Henry Kitegenyi levelled matters for the visitors with a sublime finish in the 37th minute as the game went into the break one-piece.

It was Congolese forward Kishungu Kankonde who won the game for KCCA FC a few minutes after coming off the bench.

Kankonde replaced Brian Aheebwa at the start of the second half and later scored in the 67th minute.

The gangly forward had a good interplay with Allan Okello who set him up before drilling home.

KCCA FC now join holders, BUL FC, Vipers SC, Soltilo Bright Stars FC and Express FC as the other teams that have reached the quarterfinals.

The other three slots are up for grabs for Adjumani TC who host Bunyaruguru United, Kitara FC who travel to Yumbe to fave Calvary and either Ndejje University or Police FC.
