FUFA Women Super League outfit Asubo Gafford Ladies booked a berth into the quarterfinals of this year’s FUFA Women’s Cup after ejecting GYCO Girls.

In the round of 16 encounter played at 4th Division Ground,Gulu, Gafford registered a 3-0 win to dump out the hosts who play in the second division (FUFA Women Elite League).

The Kanyanya based side who have had a massive turn around since the appointment of coach Rogers Nkugwa literally broke no sweat to sail through.

As early as the fourth minute, Madinah Nakaayi fired the visitors into the lead and this gave the team a good foundation for the rest of the game.

Irene Nakilyowa doubled the lead midway through the second stanza before Zaitun Namaganda sealed off the victory with a stoppage time goal.

Asubo Gafford become the fourth team to reach the quarterfinals, joining holders Makerere University, Kampala Queens and St. Noa Girls SS.

At the quarterfinal stage, Asubo Gafford Ladies will face non-league side St. Noa Girls.
