URA FC got better of Soltilo Bright Stars FC as the two teams faced off on Saturday at Kavumba Recreation Ground.
The Tax Collectors earned a 2-0 win in the early kickoff thanks to goals from Ibrahim Dada and Living Kabon.
The two goals came inside the opening half thanks to a dominant display from the visitors.
Bright Stars had their first attempt at goal from Yasin Mugume’s free kick but goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi did well to parry the ball away.
On the other end, the first effort from URA fell to Viane Ssekajugo when goalkeeper Sanon Mulabi fumbled with the ball but defender Andy Kyambadde did well to save the ball off the line.
The breakthrough came in the 38th minute when Dada rose highest to node Ssekajugo’s well-delivered cross.
At the stroke of halftime, URA were awarded a penalty after a foul on Ssekajugo in the box.
Kabon was able to double the advantage, converting from the spot.
Joseph Ssemujju nearly stretched the lead for the visitors in the 77th minute but his effort ricocheted off the crossbar.
The win takes URA FC to fifth place on 26 points while Bright Stars remain tenth on 24 points.
