Kampala region’s representatives for 2023 USSSA football nationals determined

2023 Kampala Region USSSA Football Tournament:

Semi-finals (Saturday, 15^th April):

• Kibuli S.S Vs Kawempe Muslim S.S
• Uganda Martyrs’ High School, Lubaga Vs Old Kampala S.S

*Venue to be determined

The four schools that will represent Kampala region at the 2023 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) football national finals in Fort Portal city are known.

Kibuli Secondary School, Kawempe Muslim S.S, Uganda Martyrs’ High School – Lubaga and Old Kampala S.S are the schools that qualified.

This followed the completion of the group stage matches on Wednesday, 5^th April 2023 at various venues.

Kibuli S.S made it three wins out of three games with a 4-0 victory over Mengo Secondary School in a game that was stopped with more than 10 minutes to play at Kawempe S.S playground.

Lethal forward Kenneth Kimera scored a brace both from free-kick set pieces with second half substitute Davis Busuulwa and Francis Oketa Yot adding a goal apiece.

“I am glad that we qualified to the nationals which was the primary objective. Now, focus turns to the UMEA Solidarity games which will help us prepare for the semi-finals coming up next week” Emuron Recoba, Kibuli S.S head coach stated.

Uganda Martyrs’ High School walloped Concerted High School 6-0 at Kawempe Muslim S.S playground.

Kawempe Muslim Secondary School was also in demolition mood, condemning Buziga Islamic School 5-0 at the Mengo S.S playground.

Old Kampala S.S easily won, 4-1 over St Mary’s Heritage S.S at Mengo S.S playgrounds.

The semi-finals and finals will be played on Saturday, 15^th April 2023 at a venue yet to be confirmed by the organizers.

Kampala region stands a chance to awarded a fifth slot for the national finals.
