Day One of the Girls School’s Cricket Week started off with the favourites picking up wins. 

The defending champions Olila High who are playing at home picked up a 10-wicket win against newcomers Iganga SSS in Group A. 

The other winners in the group included Light SSS who defeated Rwenzori Girls by 72 runs and St John’s Mukono also defeated Iganga SSS by 48 runs. In the other Group A match, Ndejje SSS defeated Gulu High School by 8 wickets 

In Group B, favourites Jinja SSS set the tone with two wins defeating newcomers Madera by 44 runs and Victoria High by 133 runs. In the other games of the group, Kilembe SSS defeated Lords Meade Vocational by 9 wickets. 

The action continues tomorrow at four different venues in Soroti City. A local derby between Light SSS and Olila High is the highlight fixture.
