Mbarara City FC finally earned their first win of the season after overcoming struggling Gaddafi FC on Wednesday at Kakyeka Stadium.
The two teams came into today’s game with no victory from their opening four games with Mbarara City yet to find the back of the net.
It was striker Henry Kitegenyi who scored the lone goal of the game that eventually guided the Ankoke Lions to victory.
The gangly forward was in the right place at the right time to guide Joshua Akandwanaho’s cross into the back of the net in the 13th minute.
The result proved a sigh of relief for coach Wasswa Bbosa who has been under immense pressure since the start of the season.
Mbarara City move to ninth place on six points from five games.
For the Leopards, it can only get worse given their awful start to the season that has seen them lose five games on the bounce and are currently rooted at the base of the table.
