Lwanga, formerly at Tanzania’s Simba and Djibouti’s Atar/Solar 7 is a subject of interest from several clubs in Libya and Sudan’s Al Merriekh managed by ex-Uganda Cranes Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic who gave him his debut in the national team colours.
Uganda Cranes midfield enforcer Taddeo Lwanga could leave Rwanda’s APR after talks over a new contract stalled.
The former SC Villa and Vipers captain joined the Rwanda record premier league champions in July 2023 on a two-year contract that ends at the end of the current season.
It is reported that the side, currently second on the league table with 42 points, four behind local arch rivals Rayon Sport want the midfielder to extend his stay but there are a few disparities in agreement from either side.

He is a key cog in the midfield for the Rwanda army side and helped them win the 2023 & 2024 league titles.
However, his stance on signing a new contract has seen him lose his position in the team and has been left out of recent matches which saw him miss out on the Uganda Cranes squad for the forthcoming 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Mozambique and Guinea.
He is one of the three Ugandans playing for the club including Denis Omedi and Hakim Kiwanuka who are both in Paul Put’s team at the moment.

Lwanga played a pivotal role in helping Uganda return to Africa Cup of Nations for the 2025 edition after missing out on 2021 and 2023 tournaments.
He was part of the team that reached the round of 16 at the Afcon in Egypt in 2019.
