Angels Basketball Club have confirmed their fate for the next season after being relegated.
Angels suffered a painful 36-56 loss to the UCU Lady Cardinals in the National Basketball League encounter at YMCA Court.
Angels dropped to the second tier after suffering their 18th loss in the 20th game of the ongoing campaign.
Despite resting most of the starters, the Lady Cardinals opened an eight-point lead (17-9) at the end of the opening period.
The Angels were limited to only seven points in the second quarter, heading to the long break trailing by 13 points (42-22).
Coming from the halftime break, Angels struggled on either side of the court, making several turnovers and failing to find a good rhythm trailing by 20 points at the end of the frame.
In the final frame, it was an even encounter of 14-14, but the damage was inflicted earlier as the Angels fell on the day.
It was a poor shooting day for both sides as the Angels converted only two of their 28 attempts from downtown.
On the other hand, the Lady Cardinals dropped three of the 31 attempts beyond the paint.
Doreen Nakibuuka (11 points) and Sylivia Nantongo (10 rebounds) led the Lady Cardinals in double digits.
Martha Likicho (10 points) was the only Angel to reach double digits on a disappointing evening.
