Uganda’s top lady golfers are eyeing major honours ahead of the Uganda Ladies Open set for November 25-27 at the par 72 Kitante golf course at Uganda Golf Club.

“I have not prepared adequately for the tournament, but I am looking forward to the tournament,” Jasper Kamukama, the Uganda Ladies Golf Union secretary said. “While I have not prepared enough I like going into the tournament as an

outsider cause I will have no pressure. My plan is to play one over and remain in thee top five on the opening day of action.”

Uganda’s top golfer Flavia Namakula, is the defending champion.

Kamukama, who will playing off her handicap 5 is anticipating a tough challenge from the top lady golfers from the various countries that have been invited Tanzania’s top golfer Angel Eaton will lead the way for her country others are Hawa Wanyeche,Sophia Viggo, Idd Madina, Vicky Elias and the president of Tanzania ladies golf union Mbonile Burton.

Kenya will have Mary Karano and Shah Bhavi while Zambia has Teenager Tina Nawa and Zambia’s lady golf union president Moono Mwila. Zimbabwe will have Claire Minter and Loice Chingono other expected golfers will come from Botswana other nations in West Africa.

This is the biggest event on the Uganda Ladies Golf Union calendar Rose Musoke, the president of the union stated that this is going to be grand event however the biggest challenge is getting sponsorship for the event.

The Uganda Ladies Golf Union have received partners for the event who include Crown Beverages, MTN, Rwenzori Water,Nile Breweries, Ferdsult.
