Bell USL transfers could shake the Express squad

After losing top spot to tax collectors, URA FC in their last Bell Uganda super league, the Red Eagles, Express might lose grip of their vital players.

Second league topscorer Julius Ogwang(7), Yusuf Juuko and Ibrahim Jingo could walk away as free agents. Talisman Edgar Luzige is linked to Buikwe side, Bunamwaya. Crowds’ darling and star Bonny Baingana Mbonye could be drafted to the U-20 Rwandan national side. This all looks to hamper Express’ title hopes. The Red Eagles last won the Ugandan league in 1996.

Furthermore, rumours and reports indicate coach Sam Simbwa might make a move to Lugogo side, KCC. KCC have of recent fallen out with their former coach, Matia Lule and seek a permanent replacement despite Morley Byekwaso being their caretaker.

Elsewhere Simon Serunkuma one of Bunamwaya’s targets from Villa. The young lad has been unsettled at Villa. Charles Sempa from Mawogola FC, Paul Musamali and Hamis Katende have joined Mike Mutebi’s SC Villa from Dream Team, a Lugazi based club.

Maroon’s coach Asaph Mwebaze insists George Abege ( with 4 league goals) is still their valuable asset. Local clubs and St. George from Ethiopia are interested in the Maroon’s forward. Nathan Mutenza who joined Victors from Tusker FC last year could have his 2 year contract terminated because poor season performances. Many clubs are tarciturn about their transfers and targets for they fear other sides could rush for them.
