Former Express FC Coach Eddie May Dead

Former Express FC tactician Edwin Charles May a.k.a Eddie May is dead. The English Coach passed away in his sleep on 14th/04/2012 aged 68. May was born on the 19th/May/1943 in Epping, England.

During his playing days, he was a defender and featured for sides in England such as Dagenham,

Southend, Wrexham, Chicago and Swansea. He was appointed Express FC Coach in late 2000 by Club Chairman then Godfrey Kirumira but after a short stint that saw the Red eagles perform below the expected standards, he was sacked on the 14th/05/2001.

This implies that May dies at exactly one month to 11 years after he faced the knife at Wankulukuku. During his spell at Mutesa II stadium, he worked with many players such as current Masaka LC Coach Kefa Kisala, Express FC goal keeping coach Sam Kawalya, Jamil Kyambadde, Hassan Mubiru, former U-23 captain Andy Lule and former Cranes internationals Fred Tamale, Phillip Obwiny, Ibrahim Buwembo, Mathias Kaweesa and Mutyaba Joseph among others.

Team captain then was Phillip Obwiny and Eddie May was assisted by John Oketch. Besides working in Uganda, Edwin May also had coaching stints in Zimbabwe with giant club Highlanders FC and in South Africa with Bush Bucks where he was appointed on 2nd/10/2000. Before venturing into Africa, May had had coaching stints with Leicester City, Brentford, Charlton Athletic and Cardif city where made his name in the early 90s. May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
