URA FC in search of First league win in three games

Kick off 4.00pm – Namboole Stadium, Live on SS9 East.

Defending champions URA FC will be looking to regain their winning touch when they pay a visit to Charles Ayiekho’s tricky Water FC side in a televised encounter at Namboole stadium on Tuesday. The tax collectors have not won a league game in three consecutive matches drawing twice and loosing once

in that period. Back to back draws with league leaders Express FC and a loss at the hands of Masaka LC means the tax collectors have now slipped to third on the table despite having two games in hand over Express FC and one over second placed Bunamwaya SC.

“It’s a must win game if we need to regain our confidence and enlighten our chances of defending the league title”, said Alex Isabirye ahead of the tie.

Coach Alex Isabirye is expected to stick to Allan Munaba who did well against Express FC at left back in the absence of Ssegawa Lawrence and also drop Said Kyeyune whose performance in the last games gas been below standard. This means Agaba Oscar may return to the starting line up after sitting out the previous two games against Villa in the cup and Express FC in the league. League leading scorer Robert Ssentongo who has also not scored in his three previous league games is expected to maintain his starting place as the lead striker. Kayizzi Vicent missed the Express FC game and may return to the team.

Charles Ayiekho’s side will however stand in Isabirye’s way as they want to keep their hopes of finishing in the top ten alive. Nyanzi Makumbi, Bukenya Joseph, Ochwo Brian and Kayiira Phillip will lead the hunt for goals on the hosts’ side while experienced midfielder Balyejusa Emma will run the show in midfield. Another experienced star in Sam Ssenoga is expected at left back.

Water FC currently sit 9th on the 16 team table with 28 points and a win for them may see them leapfrog Maroons and probably SC.Villa if it loses to Proline and Water win by a big goal margin. The tax Collectors sit 3rd on the table with 38 points and a win for them will mean displacing Bunamwaya SC from second and  only a point will separate them from table leaders Express FC.
