Morton leads third Cricket Without Boundaries visit to Uganda

A group of eight members from UK Charity Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB) led by John Morton will arrive in the country on a two-week coaching visit to Gulu, Arua and Lira Districts. “The aim is to impact cricket skills to the youth in primary and secondary schools in the area,” said Grace Mutyagaba, the Northern region development officer with whom the team will link up on arrival. The team will fly back to England on 7th October 2012.

A total of 96 teachers shall be trained in cricket coaching, 15 primary schools and 9 secondary schools shall be coached. CWB is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. They will be arriving in the country on 23rd September 2012 and depart on 7th October 2012. Since 2005, CWB has partnered with Uganda Cricket Association in Teacher Coach Training and coaching of students/pupils.
“Our partnership with CWB has been very integral over the years in training Ugandan teachers how to coach cricket, introducing many young boys and girls to the sport, support with basic equipment, and relay HIV/AIDS awareness messages” said UCA administrative officer Martin Ondeko.
