African champions Chipolopolo from Zambia landed at Entebbe international Airport on 1900hrs Thursday evening. A contingent of close to 93 people that included players and officials neglected speaking to the media even after endlessly pleas.
Federation of Zambian Football Associations spokesperson Eric Mwanza could do little about the Ugandan media advances to bet interviews. “I get you any interview, not even with the coach (Herve Renard) because he will throw you back to me,” said Mwanza “Am in charge of Chris (Katongo) and am sure he is too tired to speak to any journalists,” he added.
The team is staying at Sheraton Kampala Hotel with government dignitaries at Kampala Serena Hotel. Zambia were reported to have earlier rejected the three star hotel in which they had been booked.
The Chipolopolo will do a slight warm ups on Friday at Namboole stadium before facing off with Uganda Cranes on Saturday at 4PM to decide who qualifies for the 2013 AFCON finals in South Africa. Uganda trail Zambia 1-0 on aggregate, a first half strike by Katonga in September.
