For the second time in a row, Uganda will host the ICC Africa Division One T20 World Cup Qualifiers.
They got the rights to host the February 22 – March 1 five-team event from International Cricket Association (ICC) and Africa Cricket Association (ACA).
“We are going to leave a carnival atmosphere at the ovals,” Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) CEO Justine Ligyalingi told Kawowo Sports.
“ICC and ACA were impressed with the job well done in 2011 and we want to make this one better,”
“Whoever will make it to the ovals will have a memorable time there irrespective of their ages.” he added.
UCA’s partnership with Crown Beverages under their Pepsi worth Shs20 million, launched early this week, is set to colour the one-week showpiece the more at Lugogo and Kyambogo ovals.
Uganda will compete against Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana and Nigeria in a round robin format and teams will play each other twice.
