Uganda who face Liberia in an upcoming Group J 2014 World Cup qualifier continued to see their ranking plumet according to the latest release by the World football governing body posted on Thursday. The Cranes who had last month dropped to 84th in world saw a further drop to 85th. The East African nation also saw their position in Africa drop from 21st to 22nd.
Within the East African region, Kenya’s ranking did not move – retaining the 126th position in the World. They however dropped to 37th in Africa. Tanzania however moved 8 places to 119th in the world and took the 33rd position in Africa. Rwanda also gained 7 spots to 132nd in the World and 39th in Africa. Burundi dropped 9 places to 124th in th World and are ranked 36th in Africa.
Ivory Coast are still Africa’s number one ranked country and 13th in the World (dropping one spot down). Ghana, Mali, Nigeria and Algeria complete the top 5 positions in Africa.
The top 6 positions in the world remained constant with Spain retaining the top spot followed by Germany, Argentina, England, Italy and Colombia respectively.
