University Football League:
Kampala University 1-0 MUST
Kampala University continued with their winning streak after beating MUST 1-0 in the University Football League at Villa Park.
Only a solitary goal from Mathew Odong in the 15th minute was enough for Kampala University to snatch three points from MUST in the University Football League
MUST coach Mohammed Kyagambidwa opted for a defensive minded game which may have yielded a point for his side but all was in vain though they tried to frustrate KU.
In Siraje’s absentia Martin Baraba wasn’t lethal upfront in his debut as the KU defense commanded by Timothy Musinguzi looked composed. Though KU may have gotten the points they may have felt the stride of MUST as they looked fit and defended as a unit intercepting the KU passes.
“The physic we had was good and we are trying to gain that consistence and confidence on the ball as our counterparts who may have been in active football for long”, said a calm Mohammed Kyagambidwa.
As for KU Vincent Tumusiime the blame for poor performance in the game was due to the absentia of his striker Paul Musamali who was serving a match ban but he promises a better performance against UMU.
This win takes KU to second position with 13 points in the University League Log tied up with Nkumba University which has a superior goal difference. Action resumes on Wednesday when KIU hosts Makerere University in Nsambya.
