Nemo Stars register their first win in the Confederation of African Volleyball Men’s Club championship yesterday in Tripoli, Libya.

The Ugandan side that is making its debut on the continent passed by Ivory Coast side AUC 3-2 in a difficult encounter.

The Ugandan players showed their intentions early by claiming the first set  25-11 but then fell in the next two 26-24, 25-23. However they regrouped their composure to clinch the final two sets (27-25, 15-18), to improve their chances of a berth in the quarterfinals.

Nemo Stars will today battle Mozambique’s Autoridade Tributaria  knowing victory guarantees them a slot in the knockout phase.

The Mozambicans defeated AUC 3-1 in their opener on Saturday but lost to the already-qualified Kenya Prisons 3-0 in their second group match yesterday. Nemostars were also beaten 3-1 by the Kenyan giants in their opening game.
