Uganda’s number one squash player Michael Kawooya has stepped up his training ahead of the Autoquip Grand Prix tournament in Johannesburg,South Africa due on May 24-26 at the Parkview Squash Centre.

It will be the second time that the Ugandan player will be taking part in the tournament that he is using a a build-up to the Commonwealth games in Glasgow, Scotland next year.

“It’s good to be going back for this tournament once again as I returned good results last year,” Kawooya said. “I hope I can do better this time around.”

Kawooya will be accompanied by his coach Raymond Banyanga. Last year the Ugandan squash ace finished 13th out of 16 players in his first event in South Africa.

The tournament director Graig Vander Wath, was impressed  by the Ugandan player’s show and has invited him again this year. Botswana, Zambia, South Africa, Swaziland,Malawi,Zimbabwe and Uganda.
