Star Times, a leading Uganda pay TV has today launched a partnership with PearlSporto to promote Ugandan sports through their fast growing channels.
The partnership was unveiled at Soliz House on Lumumba Avenue by the Minister of Sports Charles Bakkabulindi,PearlSporto Chief Executive Officer Eng Moses Magogo and Star Times Chief Executive Officer Kevin Chen.
“This partnership has come at the right time when the government too is working to ensure that we promote local content that includes sports,” Magogo said at the launch. “As we move to digital migration such partnerships are very important because once such channels are carried on the satellite, it’s the only way Ugandan talent will be identified on the international scene.”
PearlSporto will get its programmes underway when they telecast the prestigious Masaza Cup that will be held in Ssese Islands,Buruli and Buwekula.
“We pledge to the sports fraternity that this is just the beginning of a long health working relationship that we are launching today, said Chen.
Whereas Star Times shall guarantee the Digital Video Broadcast platform, PearlSporto shall provide content of the Ugandan athletes in action from all corners of the Country and the World.
