Uganda Cranes right fullback Denis Guma was crowned Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU)’s Most Valuable Player of the 2012/13 season at the inaugural club awards held at Sheraton Hotel, Rwenzori Ball Room on Thursday evening.
The former SC Villa star was rewarded for his outstanding performances throughout the campaign that helped the University club lift the Uganda Cup in its first season in top flight and also finish fifth in the league.
Besides the MVP award, Guma also bagged the Journalists Choice award that was determined by a panel of selected journalists that have watched at least ten games involving the club.

“He has been there for us ever since I joined this club. I also thank my team mates, technical and medical teams. Without you guys, I wouldn’t get this accolade. It’s a team award”, a jolly Guma who was accompanied by his little daughter to the podium added.
“This award will spur me and the team to perform even better next season”, he promised.
