Amateur golfers will be spoilt for choice on Saturday as they will either opt for Entebbe or Uganda Golf Club to play in the MTN Mug of Mugs at the par 72 Kitante golf club.

The Uganda Golf Club that is one of the busiest courses in the country is set to welcome close to 200 golfers for the popular golf tournament that will see the overall winner walk away with the grand mug.

The monthly mug is held at the end of the month with various Men and Lady Golfers walking away with glittering mugs and assorted gifts from MTN Uganda.

This month’s mug is the first quarter of the year and with nine months left which will see the overall golfer of the year being awarded at the Uganda Golf Club in December in the grand Mug of Mugs.

Joseph Mawejje, last month’s winner will be the man in the spotlight going into Saturday’s action, but will have to keep a close look over his shoulder with the in-form Francis Ngabo, eyeing his second mug in the space of two months having won the January Monthly Mug.

But with the men’s choice it’s all open.

In the ladies category it will be an open race with the usual big names on show like top lady golfer Flavia Namakula, Gloria Mbaguta, the new lady captain Dr Kathy Kabenge, Aggie Konde Asiimwe, Jovia Otim, the Uganda Ladies Golf Union president Ester Okullo, Monica Ntege, Lillian Anguparu and several other leading lady golfers.
