Ibrahim Sekagya and his New York Red Bull club will face English club Arsenal FC on Saturday, July 26 in a friendly match to be played at Red Bull Arena in United States of America.

The match that will pit current New York captain and legendary Arsenal forward Thierry Henry against the club where he scored a record 226 goals in all competitions. It will be Arsenal’s second encounter with the Red Bulls in three years, following a 1-1 draw at the 2011 Emirates Cup.

Thierry Henry is a happy man to play and understands that it will be a special moment to play his old team. “It goes without saying that hosting Arsenal at Red Bull Arena will be a special moment for me both on a professional and personal level”. Thierry told newyorkredbulls.com. “As I have said before, the club is in my heart and this will be another terrific chapter in my relationship with Arsenal Football Club.

Along with my teammates, I am excited to host Arsenal in New York – one of the greatest cities in the world – and hope that Red Bulls and Arsenal fans will be able to enjoy the match.” He added.

Meanwhile Arsenal’s manager Arsène Wenger revealed that the friendly match will be a great chance to play in front of supporters who have not seen the team play before each other for a while.

“This will be a great chance to play in front of supporters who have not seen the team play before. The New York Red Bulls will be midway through their season, so they will provide a good test. Obviously it will be good to play against Thierry. He is a very special player in our Club’s history and I know my players and the supporters will enjoy this very much.”

However, this wont be the first time that former Cranes’ skipper meet an English club in 2010 while still at Red Bull Salzburg,Sekagya skippered the Austrian giants in two encounters against Manchester City in European League where City won 5-0 on aggregates to progress to the round of 32.
