Sport-S is the on-form Volleyball club locally, Nemostars have ruled for the last two years. While Nemostars were struggling to find their feet against Sky and Nkumba in the semi finals of Makerere and Ndejje Open titles respectively, Sport-S were winning those very tournaments.

The first time, the two sides meant this year, it was at the final of the Jinja Open, the game was tied at one all, when a heavy downpour suspended it. And a rematch is scheduled for tonight at the MTN Arena in Lugogo.

“We are on a good run, and am sure we go into this final a stronger and better side,” said Sport-S’ captain Andrew ‘Kasumali’ Wandera. Sport-S have Dickens Otim and Ivan Ongom in their roster, the left handed duo, has been hard for any team to play against.

“They (Otim and Ongom) will be vital for us on Wednesday (tomorrow) just like they have been in all the trophies we have won,” Wandera warned. Nemostars are fresh from Sousse Tunisia where they finished 17th out of 23 teams at the Africa Club Championship.

The Wednesday game will be their first local competition since they returned last month. “We are not happy about the fact that we have lost three of the titles we won last year,” said Nemostars’ captain George Aporu. “We are hungry for success, and the final against Sport-S we are going to give it our best,” he added.

The last time the two sides meant in the final, it was last June during the Aporu-Okol Memorial in Kumi, then Sport-S came out victorious 2-0
