Less than an hour after Kenya was dumped out of the AFCON 2015 qualifiers, reports have emerged that the Federation of Kenya Football (FKF) has sacked the entire national soccer team technical staff.
Futaa.com reports that FKF has sent an email to all local media houses stating the FKF deemed it necessary to relieve the staff of its duties as they have failed to deliver results despite being given the necessary support..
“FKF President Sam Nyamweya has with immediate effect disbanded the technical bench of the national team Harambee stars after the loss to Lesotho in the AFCON 2015 Qualifier,” read part of the statement as quoted by futaa.com.
“The federation has given the technical bench all the necessary support during the qualifiers but they have failed to deliver. We shall inform all Kenyans of the new restructuring of the entire technical bench soon,” the email read.
It’s not clear whether head coach Adel Amrouche is also part of the sack since he wasn’t on the bench for the two games against Lesotho due to suspension.
Lesotho won 1-0 on aggregate after a barren draw at Nyayo stadium.
As usual, Kawowo Sports will keep you posted on the development.
