The Mauritania football association (FFRIM) has sacked its national team head coach Patrice Neveu.
In an executive meeting held yesterday (Monday) chaired by FA president, Ahmed Yahaya, the decision was reached after Patrice failed to guide the team past Uganda in the 2015 AFCON qualifiers.
“The Executive Committee of the FFRIM held a special meeting on Monday, August 4, 2014 under the chairmanship of President Ahmed Yahya… and decided to sack Coach Patrice Neveu”. A local French website, Mauritaniefootball.com posted on Monday evening.
Mauritania lost 3-0 on aggregates against Uganda in the second round of the 2015 AFCON qualifier.
Sacked Patrice Neveu has served Mauritania since 2012 and has guided the West African nation to the finals of Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) held this year in South Africa.
