Ahead of their clash with Togo on October 11 in the 2015 AFCON qualifiers, Uganda Cranes commence training on Saturday October 4 at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
Earlier, they were supposed to train at Mandela national stadium, Namboole outside pitch but coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic says the pitch is unplayable at the moment.
“We received complaints from the playing staff after they realized the surface of the outside pitch where we are supposed to train can be a danger to them,” Micho told Kawowo Sports.
“We thus agreed to shift our sessions starting Saturday to Lugogo but call upon the management of Namboole to work on the pitch as soon as possible.
“We are in for an important game against Togo so no need to risk on player’s fitness,” he concluded.
A group of local based players start training this Saturday with the foreign bunch expected in the course of the week.
Uganda tops group E with four points same as Ghana though the Cranes have a better goal difference.
Togo is bottom with no points from their two opening fixtures.
