Group A: Congo Brazzaville 0-2 South Africa, Sudan 1-0 Nigeria
1996 Africa champions South Africa earned a hard fought 2-0 victory away in Brazzaville thanks to second half goals from Bongani Ndulula and Tokelo Rantie in the 52nd and 54th minute respectively.
In the other group game, Sudan beat champions Nigeria 1-0 in Khartoum. Babeker Bakir scored the lone goal in the 42nd minutes.
South Africa maintains group leadership on 7 points followed by Congo on 6, Sudan on 3 and Nigeria on a single point.
Group B: Ethiopia 0-2 Mali, Malawi 0-2 Algeria
Algeria maintained their perfect record in the campaign so far after beating Malawi 2-0 in Blantyre. Rafik Haliche and Djamel Mesbah were on the score sheet for the best ranked African nation to ensure they stay on top of the group despite Mali’s 2-0 away win against Ethiopia. Mali scored through Abdoulaye Diaby and Sambou Yatabare.
Group C: Gabon 2-0 Burkina Faso, Lesotho 0-0 Angola
Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre Aubemanyang scored a brace as Gabon earned a 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso. The other group game saw Angola earn a goalless draw away against Lesotho which leaves Gabon on top of the group with 7 points.

Group D: Sierra Leone 0-0 Cameroon, DR Congo 1-2 Cote d’Voire
The Indomitable Lions perfected record was halted thanks to a barren draw with Sierra Leone in Yaoundé where the latter hosted their game due to Ebola infection back home.
Meanwhile, DR Congo lost their second home game after losing 2-1 to Côte d’Ivoire in Kinshasa.

Donou Kokou revived Togo’s fading hopes of playing at the finals as his 30th minute goal sunk Uganda Cranes at Namboole. It was the first time in 10 years and a day that Uganda had last lost a home game.
In Casablanca, hosts Guinea needed an 81st minute equaliser from Ibrahima Traore to cancel out Asamoah Gyan’s 27th minute strike that given the Black Stars a lead.
Group F: Niger 0-0 Zambia, Mozambique 2-0 Cape Verde
2012 African champions Zambia continued to fire blanks as they were held to a 0-0 draw by minnows Niger while Mozambique were 2-0 winners of high flying Cape Verde. Kito and Reginaldo scored for the Black Mambas who jumped to second position with 5points, one ahead of leaders Cape Verde.
Group G: Botswana 0-2 Egypt, Tunisia 0-0 Senegal
Record AFCON winners got their first victory of the campaign thanks to a 2-0 victory away to Botswana.
Mohammed El Neny and Mohammed Salah netted for the Pharaohs who are now third in the group on 3 points; 4 points behind joint leaders Tunisia and Senegal who played to a goalless draw in Dakar.
Action continues on Wednesday with visitors over the past two days playing the hosts role.
