Express FC 0-0 KCC FC
For the fourth consecutive season, Express FC and KCC FC yet again played to another draw at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.
On a soggy pitch following a heavy downpour on Friday afternoon, both sides played to a goalless draw that ended each side’s winning run.
Coming into this game, Express FC had earned four wins on the run while KCC FC had managed five straight victories.
The game kicked off 30 minutes late due to rain and both teams failed to stamp authority on the game due to the nature of the pitch but KCC FC created more goal scoring opportunities with Brian Umony, Tom Masiko, Derrick Nsibambi and Herman Wasswa getting close but denied by the waters.
For the hosts, Willy Kavuma, Simon Sserunkuma and substitute Emma Kalyowa had chances but failed to put them away.
Last season, the two sides settled for a 1-1 draw at the same venue. A point leaves KCC FC in 3rd on the log with 21 points while Express FC are a place and a point below from 10 games played.
REACTIONS
Express FC Coach Wasswa Bbosa:
The pitch did affect our free flowing game but am satisfied with a point. Our target this season remains finishing top.
KCC FC Coach Abdallah Mubiru:
My boys played their hearts out but the pitch also affected our game. Nevertheless, am happy we got a point though our target was 3 points.
