Uganda Cranes Media officer, Fred Katende Malibu looks upon the upcoming Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Awards as an opportunity for Uganda’s football.
Fred Katende does not hide his excitement upon being named one of the people appointed to ensure an effective and fair awards ceremony with a clear testimony to Kawowo Sports:
We need these awards as a way of motivating the footballers and the people who have worked tirelessly for its development over the years.
Malibu was appointed by FUFA to offer the technical guidance on the organizing committee dominated by event organizers and marketing specialists.
The committee has FUFA third Vice President, Denis Mbidde as its chairman.
Other members on it are; Rogers Byamukama (FUFA Executive Member and Head of Marketing Committee, Stella Nassuna (Women’s football), Fred Katende (Media), Dorothy Bukirwa (URA FC), Esther Musoke (FUFA Marketing) and Bobkins Kibirige (Event Management).
He is also quick to pin point on his role on the event organizing committee.
I will advise the committee accordingly to see that the due football servants (active and retired) are rewarded
Malibu, who had threatened to resign his role as Uganda Cranes media officer in December 2014 adds.
The FUFA awards were announced on Wednesday during the weekly press conference at Mengo.
The grand event’s venue and exact date is yet to be communicated.
