Uganda Cranes’ recent 0-1 away result to Nigeria has reaped instant dividends as reflected on the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday in Zurich, Switzerland.

Uganda improves by two places from 74th to 72nd on 485 points. Rwanda for the first time since November last year is rated below Uganda on 74th.

The mountainous central African nation dropped a massive 10 points.

CECAFA Region:

Uganda leads the cecafa region (72), Rwanda follows in 74th, Ethiopia (101), Tanzania (107), Sudan (110), Kenya (117), Burundi (123), South Sudan dropped 5 places to 193rd, Eritrea (204), Somalia (206), Djibouti (207).

Uganda’s CAF 2017 Opponents:

Uganda’s opponents in the upcoming 2017 Afcon campaign all lie at different positions.

Burkina Faso is best rated at 66th having improved two places as the west African side now have 517 points.

Botswana is 104th (with 314 points), Comoros lies 186th (65 points) Globally, the reigning world champions, Germany maintain the number one slot with 1687 points.

Argentina, Belgium and Colombia occupy second, third and fourth slots respectively.

Brazil jumps to the top five for the first time since their 7-0 drubbing at the FIFA world cup last July.

In Africa, Algeria drops three places to the 21st place but maintains the number one African country with 917 points.

Cote D’Ivoire is 23rd with 907 points and five time African champions, Ghana follow suit in the 26th place with 833 points.

Best and Worst Movers:

The best overall mover is Bhutan have moved a massive 46 places to 163rd of the 209 FIFA member nations.

Caledonia is the worst mover having dropped 23 places to 174th on 101 points

The next FIFA Rankings will come on 9th May 2015.
