The third national sports development action plan workshop has started at the Uganda Olympic Committee headquarters on Thursday in Kampala.
The two day workshop has attracted all the sports federations in the country.
Key of the workshop is to review all the mechanisms of promoting sports development in Uganda.
This is the third time that this workshop is being held by the Uganda Olympic Committee. William Blick, president of UOC remarked:
It is great to work with all sports federations as one unit. The workshop is to further help these bodies on how best to lobby for resources and put them to appropriate use
Participants are discussing ideas on better capacity building, grass root talent development, sports development in Uganda, facilities and equipment, coaching, officiating, athletes’ management, administration, marketing and several other aspects.
The chief facilitator of the seminar is German born sports instructor, Gunter Lange.
About 50 officials are attending the workshop.
