Uganda’s Willy Deus Kitata, returned 13 over par 85 in the first round of the 51st SignArt North Carolina Open qualifier at the Rocky River Golf Club in North Carolina, USA on Monday.

Kitata had two birdies on hole number 5 and 8 on the front nine with two double bogeys on hole 2 and 7 while he had two double bogeys on hole 10 and 17 on the back nine with an additional bogeys on hole 11 and 16 thus making him fail to qualify to the main event.

It was the second tournament for the Ugandan amateur golfer in the United States were he is honing his skills as he eyes becoming a professional, but that won’t happen very soon until he has totally improved his all round game in the game of golf.

Kitata, who is the Uganda Sports Press Association Golfer of the year 2014 and the defending champion Uganda Open Golf Championship last month made his debut on the United States Golf Association circuit playing in the PGA Tour Wells Fargo Championship Pre-Qualifier at the same club.
