For the first time in their history, Sport-S will travel with their ladies team for the 20th edition of the Rwandan Genocide Memorial Volleyball Championship slated for June 6-7 in Kigali.

And Sport-S’ head coach Benon Mugisha has set the semifinals as target for his girls because he believes the stage won’t be that intimidating for them.

“We need to qualify for the semifinals and see what happens after that,” Mugisha told kawowo sports.

“When I look at the way my team has been training, and the level of fitness, I believe we can get out of the groups, though it’s our first time here”

The target for the women looks easier if it is to be compared to the target Mugisha has set for his men.

“We want to be champions, after winning bronze last year; we believe we can get into the finals. We have a team good enough to break the semifinal barrier and get into the finals, this year nothing should stop us,” Mugisha added.

Sport-S won’t be with setter Albert Gayi who has work commitments, which leaves Warren Muhangi as the only setter the team will rely on, with Mugisha as the backup.
