If there is a day Sky Volleyball Club will want to erase from their minds, its Friday June 26, 2015.
A day they played their first top flight league game against five time champions KAVC, and they were sent to the gutters without being given a chance to explain themselves.
KAVC whitewashed Sky in straight sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-15) in a game Sky struggled with their back court cover.
KAVC’s sole attacker Daudi Okello just tore part Sky’s net defense apart, which always exposed their court cover.
Sky’s Lt. Douglas Kiggundu who was setting for the club in the absence of John Bosco Opendi seemed like one who hadn’t had a training session in years.
He struggled to combine with attacker Emma Kato who the side looked at as their source of inspiration in times of need.
on a number of occasions, Sky players were seen colliding and going for the same ball on a night they also made it easy for the opposition.
The win was KAVC’s second of the season after their 3-2 win over Nkumba Navy. Sky will have to put in some hard work if they are to compete with other sides that have been in the league for a while.
