Home advantage didn’t count as UCU Lady Doves defeated their hosts Ndejje Elites 3-1 at the former’s Ndejje University backyard in the National Volleyball League on Wednesday.
UCU rallied to the first and second sets 25-21 and 25-23, relying predominantly on their net defense and services.
The latter troubled Ndejje’s reception which was also a big concern in their last outing against Sport-S, though then they managed to win 3-2.
The two-time league winner won the fourth in rather comfortable fashion 25-19, but that seemed to wake up the Mukono side. UCU took the fourth 25-23 to ensure they left Mukono with all the three points.
My team is a work in progress, I have some many young players who are just learning the game, and are still trying to fit into the team, but the progress is positive
Ndejje’s coach Johnson KAwenyera told Kawowo sports.
It was UCU’s second win of the season in three outings and it elevated them to fourth position on the log while Ndejje stayed in fifth position on five points on four games.
