Meddie Kagere – Michael Olunga striking partnership is arguably the most deadly at the 2015 CECAFA Kagame Cup championship going on in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The pair has scored four out of five Gor Mahia goals at the tournament and has been involved in four of them.

Against Zanzibar’s KMKM at national stadium, Dar es Salaam on Monday, Olunga set up Kagere for the opener before the former scored a brace to cap a good performance that saw him voted Man of the Match.

“There is a special understanding between the two of us thanks to the time we have played together,” Kagere told Kawowo Sports when quizzed about the secret behind the good chemistry.

First, I and Olunga are not only friends on the pitch but even off it. The chemistry is also subject to unselfishness and putting team first ahead of individual glory. It doesn’t matter who is at the end of the goal as long as it gets in.

Besides tearing defences apart in Tanzania, the duo has scored a combined 22 goals in Kenya Premier League goals this season with Olunga scoring 12; two more than Kagere all that in just 18 games.
