In a bid to strengthen their team ahead of the 2015/16 national beach soccer league, Dalumba International Beach Soccer club has completed the signing of last season’s Most Valuable player and top scorer, Mathias Kigonya from Stormers B.S.C.

Kigonya was officially unveiled to the media at Lido beach during the opening rehearsal of the team as the new season comes knocking later this month.

The club publicist, Martin Kaddu who witnessed the unveiling of Kigonya hinted on the need for the title as the catalyst to sign the player and four other players.

Dalumba International beach soccer club has signed five new players to challenge for title next season. We have signed Kigonya because we believe he has a special ingredient he will offer to the team.

Kigonya’s sign on fee was not disclosed to the public for one reason of ensuring sanity among the rest of the team members but Kawowo Sports has established Kigonya is by far the most expensive signing in the history of beach soccer surpassing Steven Bengo’s U.sh 500,000 move to Buwanika Bulls.

He will be earning a match allowance of U.shs 50,000 per game played with special clauses for goals scored, team wins registered, lunch and transport on match and training days.

He will be joined by Henry Wasajja (zaba), Ali Hassan (Muteesa), Hamis katende (stormers) and the lanky Derrick Ssekulima ( Dalumba cup MVP).

Meanwhile, the club has new coach unveiled a new tactician, Billy Kyabaggu replacing Kenneth Kiguli who is on a working trip in Kenya.

The team manager remains Richard Nathan, who also asserts the team’s readiness ahead of the new season.

The other players are; Ronald Mutebi, Kokas Opejo, Jonah Kikonyogo, Paul Lwere, Patrick Ntulume and Muzafal Ssenyonjo.
