Jinja based Uganda premier league team, Bul football club has named stocky dribbling midfielder Augustine Nsumba as the new captain.

He was officially unveiled before the media alongside 16 other new players at the Source of the Nile Hotel in Jinja on Thursday.

The intelligent player who was released by Sports Club Villa at the close of the previous season takes over the captain’s responsibilities from Patrick Asiku, who has since left for Soana football club.

Nsumba, 27, is a former Sports Club Villa and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) player who also featured in Iceland with IVB Vestmannaeyja between 2007 and 2009.

Nsumba told Kawowo Sports in an exclusive interview;

I want to be part of the success script at BUL football club. Personally, I will liaise with the rest of my teammates to build a winning mentality for all season round

Hashim Sempala is the first assistant captain, Herbert Odipio and Franco Oringa the second and third assistant captains.

Club chairman, Silver Alias promised to raise the club’s status – quo as well maintain the good image of the club before the public.

At the same function, the club’s new tacticians, Alex Isabirye (head coach) and David Kiwanuka (assistant) were also officially ushered into the BUL F.C family.

Isabirye said in a philosophical way;

I will boldly tell you – I need three points per match we shall play

Bul kick starts the new campaign with an away trip to Lugazi where they will face Uganda Revenue Authority football club at the Mehta stadium on Wednesday.
