Ssingo 5-0 Buddu
Ssingo finally ended their wait for their first Masaza Cup crown in a stylish fashion beating highly rated Buddu 5-0 in the finals at Namboole stadium.
Prior to the game, Buddu had only conceded twice and were enjoying an unbeaten run in the competition this year but went down 2-0 in the first half thanks to an own goal and Edirisa Lubega ‘Torres’ goal.
After recess, Buddu’s hopes of getting back into the game vanished as Makweth Awol made it 3-0 and the big man later completed his first hat trick to record the first ever hat trick in the finals of the competition.
The final whistle by FIFA referee Brian Nsubuga meant Ssingo were champions for the first time after losing two consecutive finals in the previous two editions.
The game was watched among others His Highness the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II who set foot at Namboole for only the second time in history.
