Heavy downpour has interrupted proceedings at the Lugogo Tennis Complex, halting the Uganda Tennis open match between Uganda’s David Oringa and Kenyan Ibrahim Kibet.

The match had reached the third set; 6-4 5-7 1-4 Oringa on-course to a marvelous comeback after a difficult start, when rains washed out the match.

The highly contested semi final saw Oringa lead 2-1 in the first set but Kibet proved a hard one to notch as he kept it level at 4-4, later edging his opponent 6-4 in the opening set.

The duo played out a 4-4 deuce in the second set and Oringa eventually rose to the challenge going 3 more games to win 4-7.

The third set later on got underway and Oringa led 3-0 before Kibet pulled one game back as duo went packing due to heavy rains and a flooded court.
