Monday Fixtures (Lugogo)
Women: VVC vs Sport-S – 6pm
Men: KAVC vs Sport-S – 8pm
For the first time in history, Sport-S has both their men and women teams qualify for the National Volleyball League playoffs.
Both teams are on the verge of rewriting more history, if they can go an extra notch and make the league finals.
But, before the dreaming can go on, the two sides will bring the curtains of the regular season down tonight at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium ahead of the playoffs that commence on Wednesday.
Sport-S ladies take on Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC) who have secured the number one spot with 64 points from 23 matches.
On the other hand, the Nsambya based side is on 61 points after the weekend wins over KCCA and Cobap but was undone by a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Ndejje Elites.
A win with maximum points against Ndejje would have made the Monday evening tie with VVC one too look out for.
Both teams would have been tied on the same points and the winner would go into the playoffs as the top seed.
Sport-S men defeated KCCA and UCU Doves in straight sets to ascend to the summit of the 12 team log with 57 points.
Their Monday opponents, KAVC defeated Ndejje Sharks 3-1 and got a walkover Mulago who failed to turn up. KAVC are seated in second position on 55 points.
KAVC can only go into the playoffs as number one with a 3-0 or 3-1 win while Sport-S can even afford to lose 3-2 and still finish the regular season as top seeds.
