With Uganda Volleyball Federation opting to have the finals played in a best of three format, the first game of the series may prove to make a huge difference in determining the winners.
Vision Volleyball Camp head coach had before the game warned that his side has to take all their chances to avoid pressure going into the next game.
And, his charges came out all guns blazing in their first game of the series trouncing 2012 and 2013 winners Ndejje Elites 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-13).
For reigning Most Valuable Player, Peace Busingye, the side expect to seal the series next Friday when they step onto the floor for game two.
“We want to seal this in the next game,” the former Ndejje Elites player revealed before saying the game was easy for the defending champions.
VVC were near-perfect with everything they did especially their serves which Busingye says they have tried to work on before the series.
The combination of Zaina Kagoya and Joan Nabbuto in the center also proved too much for Ndejje attackers who labored to penetrate the block.
Going into the finals, Ndejje were the side on a good. Defeating VVC in the second round of the league and making easy prey of second seed Sport-S in the semis looked to have given the Elites the perfect form going into the finals but the University side were far from their best on the night.
