Uganda Cranes and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango believes coach Pitso Mosimane has played a tremendous unique role for the club’s recent success.
The burly shot stopper, who had an incredible year was instrumental in the club’s 3-1 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom knock out final, saving two penalties.
About coach Mosimane, Onyango as quoted by News 24 noted;
Mosimane’s work-ethic is an inspiration to the team. He has the passion for the game and you can see that he never sits down when he’s on the sideline. He gets the balance between football and his family because our families support us through tough times and good times. He does give us some time off to be with our families when we go through those tough times. But when it’s time for work he wants everyone to work full-time. So I believe the positive impact he has on the players is why we are doing so well this year.”
The Brazilians play Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on 9th January 2016.
Mosimane’s charges are ahead of Bidvest Wits at the summit on goal difference with 26 points from 12 games – five points more than Amakhosi.
Sundowns playing staff is already a motivated side having been granted the green-light to share the R.4 million prize money from the Telkcom cup success.
Technical advisor Angelo Tsichlas confirmed to the media recently that the money was to be shared by the playing and technical staff.
Onyango himself has had a commendable season thus far for club and country.
He is looked at a key figure for Coach Milutin Sredojevic’s Uganda Cranes as they plan for the group D AFCON qualifiers in March 2016.
