KCCA 2-0 Soana

KCCA returned to winning ways thanks to a 2-0 victory over Soana FC in a league game played at Nakivubo stadium.

January recruit from Express FC Ceaser Okhuti opened his account for the club with a brace scoring in either half as KCCA extended their lead at the summit.

The striker gave the Kasasiro Boys a 4th minute lead pouncing on a Didi Muhammad error after he failed to handle Herman Wasswa’s effort from close range.

The two had returned from two match absence and they combined two minutes later with Wasswa setting up Okhuti with a well weighed cross but he shot wide with only the goalie to beat.

On the other end, Musa Esenu and Allan Kayiwa came close but were lethargic in front of goal.

In the 28th minute, Wasswa nearly doubled the KCCA lead but his header missed target with inches although Muhammad was already beaten.

Seven minutes later, Okhuti was again culpable for missing another opportunity after getting at the end of another Wasswa pass.

Man of the match Jackson Nunda thought he had extended his side’s lead but his goal was disallowed for offside on Wasswa who had a slight touch on the ball moments before half time.

After recess, there was a balanced game as each side’s search for goals continued and for the first time, KCCA goalie Benjamin Ochan was forced to tip Musa Esenu’s effort over the bar.

The MUBS student connected Dan Wagaluka’s cross with a back heel inside the 16 yard but Ochan did well drawing applause from the home fans.

He was at it again five minutes later saving from Kayiwa’s hard shot from the area but Wagaluka shot wide when the ball fell to his feet.

Fifteen minutes to time, KCCA won a corner and from a goal melee after Soana failed to clear their lines, Okhuti slotted home for his and the hosts’ second to seal the maximum points.

KCCA now open a six point gap at the summit after second placed URA FC drew 1-1 with Lweza.
