CAF U-20 Qualifiers:
1st Leg: Rwanda Vs Uganda – Kigali (2nd April 2016)
Uganda national U-20 team head coach, Kefa Kisala together with the working team named a strong 36 man squad.
The team is set to play Rwanda in the first round of the CAF U-20 qualifiers with the opening leg slated for Kigali on April 2nd 2016.
Six U-17 Graduates:
The team has six graduates from the U-17 team of 2014 that featured in the unsuccessful qualification campaign against Seychelles, Rwanda before bowing out to Zambia.
These include midfielders Julius Poloto, Frank ‘Zagga’ Tumwesigye, Emmanuel ‘Song’ Olinga, goalie Eric Kibowa, Bashir Asiku and sharp shooter, Muhammed Shaban.
Vipers’ Kezironi Kizito surprisingly makes the team that starts training on Friday, 18th March 2016 at Namboole.
Burly striker, Edrisa ‘Torres’ Lubega, the current top scorer of the FUFA Big league with 18 goals in 17 games makes the team despite being summoned to the senior Uganda Cranes team that is preparing for the match against Burkina Faso.
Lweza F.C promising right back Fred Okot (brother to Uganda Cranes’ left back, Joseph Ochaya) is on the team.
KCCA’s Edward Kikonyogo, Masaka S.S left back Ronald Nkonge, Kibuli S.S’ stylish midfielder Allan Okello and Vipers’ Pius Wanji are some of the other players named.
Diminutive though extremely talented Proline midfielder, Noordin Bunjo makes the star studded squad.
Training commences Friday with the Uganda Cranes’ team.
Kisala is assisted by Richard Wasswa, Arthur Kyesimira and goalkeeping coach, Daniel Kiwanuka.
