Maroons vs. Police – Luzira Prisons Grounds, 4:30 pm
Police will look to continue the push for their only second title in their history when they travel to Luzira on Tuesday for a date with bottom placed Maroons.
The Cops currently sit 6th on the table with 34 points, 13 behind runaway league leaders KCCA with 7 games left to the end of the season. Mathematically, they are still in the title race.
However, their recent form is something their fans are not happy with given they have won just once in their last five games, drawing twice and losing as many.
Maroons on the other hand are now looking over their shoulders following their failed attempts to vacate the basement.
With 7 games left of play and with them still stuck at the bottom of the table with just 13 points, it’s now likely that the prisoners could see themselves play in the Big League come next season.
They have won just once since the turn of the year and have scored the fewer goals in the league.
Their statistics on the other side of the field are also far from convincing. Only SCVU (33), Lweza and Soana (28), have conceded more goals than Maroons’ 27.
Maroons sit bottom of the table while Police are sixth
