Confederation of Youth Soccer Programme (CYSP) football coach cum director, Vincent ‘Titi Box to Box’ Tumusiime will not regret the countless hours invested in supporting youth football talents.

Tumusiime has spent years dealing with young talents in Kampala and the suburbs.

At long last, his efforts were handsomely appreciated with an invitation to ljubljana City in Slovenia for the grass roots development programme organized by UEFA.

Tumusiime, also the head coach at Kampala University left Uganda with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Watson.

“The two are in Slovenia for a five day programme in relation to grassroots football all organised by Europe’s soccer governing body UEFA” a FUFA official statement read.

Watson made the trip on behalf of CAF, the continental football governing body in Africa where he is a member of Technical Study team.

The former Uganda Cranes star midfielder was part of the CAF Technical study group during the 2016 CHAN Finals in Rwanda.

“CAF wants Edgar Watson to extend his vast experience at the grassroots level” FUFA spokesman, Hussein Ahmed clarified to Kawowo Sports.

Only three African countries – Sao Tome and Principe, Uganda and Senegal were invited plus a special slot to CAF which opportunity was given to Watson.

Tumusiime believes the knowledge acquired will be of great use to the local communities in Uganda.

“I thank UEFA, CAF and FUFA for this life time opportunity. I expect to use the learned skills to full display when I return home. Grass root football is the bench mark of football development world over” Tumusiime, a three time winner of the University Football trophy with Kampala University added.

One of Tumusiime’s vivid products at KU is midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba, now at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) football club.

“I deal with disciplined and talented young players as Mutyaba with whom we started from scratch. Uganda is endowed with millions of talented players as Mutyaba. It is a matter of upbringing” Tumusiime, who recently partnered with American NGO, Rash Programme adds.

Tumusiime and Watson are now rubbing shoulders with the world’s best youth coaches as Frank Ludoplh (UEFA grass roots coach), Kejdi Tomorri (Albania), Rupert Webster (England),  Steen Jorgensen (Denmark), Matan Turkenitz (Israel) and Paul John Toohey of Oceania Football Confederation).
